The Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Regulation on the protection of personal data), hereinafter: “GDPR” has been in force since May 25th throughout the European Union, including Poland.

The purpose of the GDPR is to give all EU citizens the greatest possible control over the processing of their personal data by entrepreneurs and to ensure an adequate level of their protection.

Our activity has been adapted to the requirements of the GDPR and remains in full compliance with the regulations entering into force. We have developed new regulations, procedures, instructions and guidelines that regulate in detail the principles of personal data processing within the Smithfield Polska Group companies, including the principles of exercising the rights of data subjects. We have implemented additional security measures to prevent any personal data security incidents. We have updated the information clauses provided, among others to job candidates, employees, current and future customers, growers and contractors. We have introduced additional restrictions regarding entrusting the processing of personal data to third parties. We constantly monitor and analyze all guidelines on the protection of personal data published by the Personal Data Protection Office (formerly: GIODO) and the Article 29 Working Group.

Due to the fact that the GDPR imposes new information obligations on the companies of the Smithfield Polska Group regarding the processing of personal data, we want you to know and be aware if we also process your personal data.
